Derby Royals was a team created by Robin Pritchard. This was an under 12s team entered into the Derby City League. The team was entered straight into Division 1 and after 3 hard years the Royals were finally crowned league champions after finishing 2nd and 3rd the previous years.

In 2008 the Royals formed their first Mens team. The team was formed by a group of friends who grew up together playing football but as they all got older they split up into different teams with only 2 or 3 playing together. But in 2008 the idea of forming a team together was put forward and greeted with great enthusiasm by all. All we needed now was a Manager willing to put up with a group of mates who wanted to become a football team. We found the perfect man for the job, Robin Pritchard a friend of anyone who knew Jake and many who didnt, he was a great bloke and knew his football too the perfect candidate to take the reigns

In the Royals first season (2008/2009) we were crowned league champions and won two cups to do the treble.

We then moved to the M.R.A for the start of the 2009/2010 season for a bigger challenge and went on to win the MRA divison 2 but cup glory evaided us.

The story of Derby Royals continued on to the 2010/2011 season with the team again producing a high quality of football and gaining promotion to the MRA premier division, only three years after the teams formation. Not only did the Royals gain promotion we also beat belper in the cup final to secure another piece of silverware.

The 2011-2012 season will see the Derby Royals Second Team take part in the MRA Divison 2 in their first season together.
