Season 2009/10 MRA Division 2 Derby Royals 4 Findern 1 Derby Royals gave most of the subs a good run out today and they did not disapoint with Adam Clarke scoring two even after missing a penalty, while Lee scored his second of the season. The Royals never looked in trouble even though they played poorly in the first half. In the second half the Royals played much better and dominated the game. Well done boys next up the sky slope Goals from Adam Clarke 2 Lee Parnell 1 Chris Martin 1 Man of the match Midge again solid game and a good goal Castle Donington 4 Derby Royals 3 In a cup game we were nexer expected to win as we where playing two division above us nearly pulled off the shock of the round with the Royals on top with 2 mins of normal time left Castle Donington scored from a long free kick thanks mainly to a swirling wind goal scores today Sam Griffiths 1 Chris Martin 1 Scott Wyllie 1 Man of the match goes to Sam Griffith outstand performance today well done a class act from start to finish Matlock Sports 2 Derby Royals 1 Cup The Royals where much the better team but where undone by poor finishing and a sucker goal late into extra time. I think the Royals will not have any problem adapting to football in a higher league, Unlucky lads Goal scorer was Sam and man of the match went to Midge hard working and playing out of position Derby Royals 6 Belper United 0 A great performance today with first meeting second in the league. And although the Royals had thier first goal ruled offside when it clearly was not due a cheating linesman, our second was allowed by the Ref when once again the linesman was flaggin (again it clearly wasn't) from then on the Royals got stronger and stronger with both new lads impressing on thier debuts. Goals today from Lynchy 2 Andy 1 Jake 1 leyland 1 and superb own goal from thier centreback Man of the Match Lynchy an outstanding performance from rightback Derby Royals 4 Singh Bro 1 A great all round team performance today. The Singh brothers game plan today was to be physical but they failed miserably with Jordan and Andy smashing their midfield to bits, while Scott was simply unstoppable and midge ran from box to box without resting. Goals today from Scott 2 Midge and Greg. Man of the match today was Jordan a power house in midfield today Pastures first 2 Derby Royals 3 A few below par performances today made the game more difficult that it should been. The first 15 mins the Royals showed thier class and took a well deservered 2.0 lead. Unfortunatly the midfield then seemed to take thier foot off the gas and let Pastures play a little. Pastures where thrown a life line late in the second half when the Referee wrongly awarded a penalty ( he then explained why the penalty was given and proved he was wrong but then refused to change his mind) with 10 mins to go and Pastures back in the game the Royals found just enough space to nick in and kill the game off 3.2. Pastures scored their second goal with the last kick of the game to slighty flatter the result Goal scores today Jamie Warner , Josh Gregory, Scott Wyllie Man of the match Dave Ford Punjab United 1 Derby Royal 2 Todays game was not really a football match more a battle of two halves with the wind at hurricane force, the Royals battled hard to protect thier goal. Ash warner pulled off 3or 4 amazing saves while Gareth and Fordy cleared the line to many times to remember and at half time the score was 0 : 0. Secord half saw the Royals kicking down hill with the wind and within 10 min's had taken the lead with some great football by Sam, finished off by Cam the second soon followed again great team play finished off by Greg and although Punjab scored from a cleverly worked freekick, The Royals never looked in danger and should have scored at least two more Final score 2 : 1 to the Royals Man of the Match Ash Warner Swanwick 0 Derby Royals 1 A real battle today on a small pitch with a patched up team against a well organised team that knew their own ground.Swanwick's game plan was to smuther the Royals and try to use the long ball game to sneak a goal. And to be fair they came very close to taking the lead twice with one chance being ruled offside and chance hitting the crossbar and the defenders privates before finally being cleared. The Royals fitness started to show in the second half and with more space to work in the Royals finally took the lead with a well worked freekick finished off with a Big Ben Yule Header Not your best performance boys today but another three points in the bag Goal scorer Ben Yule Man of the match Chris Martin an awesome display at centreback Derby Royals 7 Wirksworth Town 0 For the first time this season the Royals had a full squad to choose from and this showed with a superb performance from the team including all three subs. Man of the match was Scott with 4 goals coming on as a second half sub. Goals today from Scott Wyllie 4 Josh Gregory 2 Daniel Beresford 1 Derby Royals 3 Melbourne Dynamoes 1 Another scappy game with odd patch's of superb football. All three goals were well worked and we took a deserved win.Man of the Match was Midge today, he had to stand in at centre back today and gave an outstanding performance.next week is a tough challenge for the lads against Worksworth Town reserves. see you at training this wednesday Wirksworth Ivanhoe 1 Derby Royals 2 The game was not as close as the scoreline made out. Royals dominated from start to finish on another small ski slope pitch. Two goals from Josh and Sam gave us a confortable 2 nil lead but with 5 minutes left on the clock Ivanhoe scored from what was only their second real attack all game. the football was not pretty at times but we got the result Man of the Match once again goes to the unstopple work horse in midfield Andy Sizzling Bacon Goal scorers Sam 1 Greg 1 Bargate 0 Derby Royals 10 On a pitch that could best be discribed as a ski slope the Royals were in total control from start to finish. The only complaint today was how did we miss so many chances (sammy) Still we are through the first round of the cup lets keep focused as the next round will be a much harder game Goal scorers: Andy 4 Sam 2 Wylie 1 Barbour 1 Jake 1 Greg 1 man of the match was Sam, Bargate simply could not cope with him Castle Donnington 1 Derby Royals 12 Royals thrash Castle Donnington 12 . 1 to remain top of the league. A superb team performance today with 10 different players getting on the score sheet. well done lads but i don't think we'll find many teams this poor in the league goal scorers: Jordan 2 Cam 2 Jake 1 Bacon 1 Ford 1 Sam 1 Gregory 1 Martin 1 Clarke 1 Ash 1 men of the match was the entire team today Derby Royals 3 Melbourne Dynamo's 1 With Royals fielding what appeared to be a weakened team, struggled in the first half against a well organised team that liked to play a good standard of football. The Royals fell behind to a clear penalty caused by a clumsy tackle the striker put the ball perfectly in the corner to take a 1.0 lead. The Royals had two good chances to level the score but both went narrowly wide. In the second half the Royals found out how strong the wind really was and had Melbourne pinned in there own half for the rest of the second half. two goals from Josh Gregory and one from Adam (deano) clarke gave the royals a deserved win Man of the Match Andy Sizzling Bacon Derby Royals 4 Sandiacre Town 1 With competition hotting up for places as injured players return to the squad, a good performance is required to keep your place. With this in mind, the first half today was an awesome display as we ripped Sandiacre to shreds, scoring 3 very good goals in the first 25 minutes. second we took our foot off the pedal and let sandiacre back into the game, but the damage was already done. Goal scorers today Sam griffiths 2 Scot wyllie 1 Adam (Deano) Clarke 1 Man of the match today was Jamie Warner never put a foot wrong throughout the entire game Derby Royals 3 Pastures 2 A hard game not made any easier by our own silly mistakes Goals from Cam, Jamie and Lynchy gave us the three points but it could have been more with a few lads still not finding there shooting boots men of the match today was Andy and Scott a awesome midfield performance Mickleover RBL 0 Derby Royals 2 A much better performance today against an all new look rbl. Goals in the first half secured from Andy Bacon and Jacob Pritchard gave the Royals a thier first win of the season Man of the Match today was Ashley Warner Hilton Harriers 1 Derby Royals 1 A poor start for the season with the Royals having most of the play for the entire game, but were unable to convert there chances. Very long grass hampered the pass and move football of the Royals, still we should have won this one boys goalscorer Josh Gregory Man of the Match today was Ben Yule ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Season 2008/09 Derby Royals 1 Singh Brothers 0 Goal scorer Josh Gregory Derby Royals 3 Woodside 1 Semi Final Goal Scorers Joshua Gregory 1 Sam Griffiths 2 Mickleover RBL 1Derby Royals 3 Adam Clarke 1 Sam Griffiths 2 Derby Royals 3 Loscoe 1 Jordan Simpson 1 Daniel Beresford 1 Joshua Gregory 1 Loscoe 1 Derby Royals 2 Sam Griffiths 2 Derby Royals 4 Woodside 2 Final Daniel Beresford 1 Joshua Gregory 2 Jamie Warner 1 Singh Bro 3 Derby Royals 5 Daniel Beresford 3 Ashley broadhurst 1 Joshua Gregory 1 Derby Royals 5 v Mickleover RBL 2 semi final of the cup Jordan Simpson 1 Chris Martin 1 Adam Clarke 2 Sam Griffiths 1 Derby Royals 7 Mickleover RBL 1 Derby Royals had the luxuary of resting some key players this week ready for the cup match next week and I'm pleased to say that the lads that stepped in did a grand job. The Royals once again completly dominated the game and with Josh Gregory on fire ripped the heart and soul out of Mickleover Rbl. The Royals even changed there goalkeeper at half time to let Jake get some valuble match pratice but the goals kept coming. 4 superb goals from Josh and one each from Jamie, Mark and Sam gave the lads another superb win Cotmanhay 0 Derby Royals 3 A great performance today with everyone standing up to the strenght of Cotmanhay. The boys out played them and out strenghted them on the pitch. The pitch was bobbly and uneven yet the lads coped well and kept cotmanhay in there own half for most of the game.goals today came from Jordan a 20 yard looping header that the keeper palmed into his own net, astrong powerful run and shot from Jamie that left the keeper no chance and a clever finish from midge when the defence and keeper messed up.The league is ours to lose now we are 4 points clear with 4 games in hand. Well done everyone Derby Royals 6 Ripley Reserves 0 Quarter final of the Cup brought Derby Royals and Ripley Reserves back together for the 5th time this season. With the squad almost back to full strenght it was always going to be hard for Ripley and this showed in the first ten minutes with two goals that took the heart out of the Ripley side. From then on there was only ever going to be one winner Ash in goals had very little to in goal while Andy and Broady controlled the midfield. The Royals played some really good football at times and with more players coming back from injury, competion for places will be very strong. next week its Cotmanhay away a real test for the team and a good win will see us within touching distance of the league title Derby Royal 4 Loscoe 1 Derby Royals played losco on a superb day if not a little windy and even though they had two regular starters missing the Royals took total command of the game early on and never looked back. Jamie was given a rare chance up front the Loscoe defence found themslves twisted in knots with his strength and ball control combined with Josh Gregory's silky skills it was no supprise the Royals took the lead with three of the goals comming from the front men themselves Greg got two and Jamie got his first of the season. The Royals other goal scorer was Mr Crackling himself Andy Bacon with a superb 30 yard effort that the keeper had no chance of stopping . Final score was 4.1 but the Royals missed 5 or 6 easy chances with both Broady and Clarkey missing open goals from less than 2 foot Man of the Match this week goes to Andy a superb performance rounded off with a great Goal Derby Royals 3 Mickleover Rbl 1 Derby Royals returned to league action with the first of 4 games against Mickleover Rbl. on a superb day for football the Royals showed straight from kick off why they are top of the league, with crisp accurate passing from back to front the Royals took an early lead with Josh finishing off from some geat build up play and from then on never looked back. Rbl tried there hardest but where clearly out classed by a superior team and it wasn't long before the Royals increased there lead with another great finish from Sam. In the second half the Royals increased there lead with another good finish from Josh before Mickleover pulled one back. All in all a good all round team performance Man of the match today goes to Foxy for his commanding performance in midfield Derby Royals 2 Punjab First team 1 Derby Royals played Punjab in the quarter final of the Frank Andrew Memorial Trophy and showed that although they were a division below Punjab, that they more than match them for pace and ability. It was the Royals that should have scored first with Punjab coming under extreme pressure at times juring the first half with both Josh Gregory and Daniel (yabouh) Beresford having good chances, but at halt time it was 0.0 . In the second half there was continued pressure from the Royals but it was Punjabs very strong and skillfull striker who found the net first, when he cleverly chipped Ash to make it 1.0 . Punjab defended well but with time running out Daniel (yabouth) Beresford let fly a 35 yard shot that dipped and moved all over the place, giving Punjabs keeper no chance 1.1 severn minutes to go and game on! The Royals finding fresh legs and energy, assaulted the Punjab defence and with only two minutes remaining scored a second to take them into the semi finals with a 2.1 win Ripley Reserves 1 Derby Royals 3 Derby Royals played there first league game of the new year away to Ripley and It could not have started any worse. The Royals were forced into a very early substitution when one of the centre backs going up for a 50/50 header collapsed in a heap with a broken collar bone. next it was the turn of Jake to be substituted when Ripleys centre back miss timed a tackle and took his ankle instead of the ball. further woe was to follow when from a freekick the ref over ruled the linesman to allow a player in an offside position to collect the ball and score from a very tight angle. The Royals are famous for not giving up and battled hard and soon had the score back to 1 all. From then on the Royals dominated the game and 1-1 soon became 3-1 and although the last 17 mins were difficult as a number of players had either cramp, back injuries or fatigue, they hung on, with Foxy holding the backline together,Andy holding the mid and Sam playing both midfield and striker. a great all round performance today with everyone giving 110% and Ash even got dirty Derby Royals 9 Netherseal St Peters 0 Derby Royals mens played there quarter final tie against Netherseal St Peters on a waterlogged pitch against a team that started with only 8 men and amost without a keeper as some of there players turned up late. In very heavy condition the Royals still managed to play some good pass and move football that cut Netherseal to shreds. The first 20 minutes was an even battle between the sides, but the Royals finishing was again superb and as the goals went in Netherseal's head started to drop 5.0 at half time and in the second half the Royals managed to score 4 more on a mud bath of a pitch against a team encamped in there own half . Highlights of the game was another goal from "Yeboah" Cambell and Sam's scoring a brace with 5 seconds of game time Man of the Match Daniel Yeboah Beresford Loscoe Dynamos 0 Derby Royals 3 A superb game of football watched by spectators from both sides, saw Derby Royals play some of there best football todate. On a small and bumpy pitch the Royals passed the ball quickly and accuratly and soon had loscoe on the back foot with shots from Sam, Greg and Mikey going very close to an opening goal before Cam crossed in from the left hand side over the keeper for Jake to finish. 1.0 Royals and although loscoe broke free twice in the first half, they never made Ash work with the defence doing there job superbly. Second half saw more of the same from the Royals and with loscoe pinned in there own half 2 more goals came, Greg finished well at the back post from Sam's hard work while Man of the Match Cambell scored a superb solo goal running in from the left and finishing with a neat chip Well Done all a great performance by all Compition for places is hotting up and may see some players struggling to get there places back if the team carry on playing this well Crown Inn 0 Derby
Royals 11 Derby Royals played a second round cup match today against the Crown Inn form Burton. I had a funny feeling yesterday when we asked them to do there warm ups off the pitch to protect it and there reply was We dont do warm ups!! This was their first mistake and there second was to try and hold a high line on our pitch ( LOL). This second error paid dividends when Sam raced through after only 5 minutes to round the keeper to score and this was followed up rapidly by a second. The crown realised they were down for a hammering and decided to resort to rash challenges, verbal abuse and the odd punch behind the refs back. This still did not affect the Royals with Greg and Sam especially turning the crowns defence inside out. Final Score was 11.0 Goal scorers Sam 4 Greg 2 Jake 2 Bucko 1 Whiteman 1 Cam 1 Men of the Match The entire team a good all round performance Derby Royals 5 Ripley Reserves 0 A good performance this week from almost all of the team gave us our best win of the season and at last a clear sheet for Ash in goal, although this was mainly down to good defending by the back four, when called into action Ash was more than a match for there forwards. The game was won today in the midfield and both Midge and Andy where monsters and righty deserved there joint man of the match awards for there effort, Goals today came from Jake 2 Sam 1 Josh 1 and an own goal well done lads you now have a week off before your cup match Derby Royals 1 Cotmanhay 1 A poor performance today in the first saw 5 players play well below there own ability and this left us struggling on the back foot.Have i been allowed to swap 5 players and had i got 5 replacements i would have used them. unfortunatly i only had one ready to come one so Jamie unfairly was made to look as he was the scapegoat, far from it other would have been taken off but unfortunatly i did not have replacements so i had to rely on a stern talking at half time. this along with Cotmanhay fading stamina aloud us back into the game. If we took our chance we could have won this easerly heads up its Ripley next week Goal scorer today was Greg a sweetly struck penalty Derby Royals 2 The Sump 1 A good performance from the lads against the cup holders well done all goal scorers Adam Clarke and Josh Gregory Derby Royals 4 Derby Singh Brothers 2 The best and the worst performance today. For the first 20 minutes we played our best football of the season, we passed and moved the ball quickly and our finishing was superb. The Royals went 2 up in twenty minutes and at that time it looked like we were going to score 10 before half time. But a silly mistake from bucko meant we spent the rest of the game with ten men and on the back foot. Unfortunately for Whiteman he had to be sacrificed to allow fox on to sure up the middle. Although we went 4nil up, eventually the extra man told and the Singh Brothers pulled back 2 goals towards the end to set up a nervous last five minutes Final score 4-2. Against a better team we may have lost today. Let this be a lesson and don't let it happen again. Man of the Match, Ashley Warner
Derby Royals - Seniors Derby Royals 5 Ripley Reserves 1 One of the best performances of the season from a technical point of view straight from the kick off we passed and moved the ball very well. Our defence looked comfortable on the ball even under pressure and where the back bone of all our attacks, Andy and Fox looked took control of midfield and Jamie bossed his new position. The Royals scored within the first two minutes and should have had 3 or 4 more by half time thanks to some tireless running from Sam and although Ripley had two players sent off this was not a dirty game, far from it with only there linesman being poor. Three more goals in the second half gave us a good win and takes us to the Top of the League with a game in hand Well done all Goal scorers today Andy Bacon, Josh Gregory, Adam Clarke, Mark Jubb and Ashley Warner Man of the match was Sam Griffith with Streaky running a close second Derby Royals 4 Draycott Travellers 0 The Royals welcomed back there club Captain for his first competitive game of the season and although it took him the first half to settle, his class showed in the second half. A poor performance in the first half by most of the players allowed Draycott to go in at nil nil,evn though they had lost a player to a red card within the first five minutes. The second half showed a marked improvement and the Royals ran out deserved winners with 4 good goals. there were strikes from Campbell, two from the fox and a superb strike from Andy 'streaky' Bacon Men of the Match Andy 'streaky' Bacon and Kevin 'goal rush' Campbell Derby Royals 2 Ripley reserves 3 League Ripley
brought in 7 first team players to help them out but could have and
should have lost as the Royals were all over Ripley in the second half.
Had it not been for some poor finishing, the Royals should have won 5
or 6-2 (Chris Martin 2 ) Derby Royals 3 Derby Singh Brothers 2 Royals
battered Singh Brothers and went 3 nil up but a combination of tired
legs and a silly goalkeeping error allowed the Singh brothers back into
the game. A nervous last 5mins saw the Royals hang on for there first
win of the season (Adam Clarke 2 Daniel Beresford 1 ) Cotmanhay 2 Derby Royals 3 A
nasty place to have to visit with players and spectators coming under a
lot of abuse from the home spectators. Royals were again 2 nil down at
half time but fought back bravely against a physically strong team to
win 3-2 with almost the last kick of the game (Mikey Callaghan,Josh
Gregory,Chris Martin) Derby Royals 3 Ripley Reserves 0 Cup Match Derby
Royals played there best football of the season to date as they out
played and out passed Ripley for the entire game. The only down side
was the Royals finishing, although we did score 3 and kept our first
clean sheet. The scoreline should have been a lot higher (Chris
Martin,Jake Pritchard,Sam Griffiths) Material which is posted on any bulletin boards or match report page is written by Users and We are not responsible for and do not endorse such material.
